Global Goals | Voices For Change
At the 2021 London Design Biennale at Somerset House, World renowned artist and the Biennale director Es Devlin created the Forest For Change in collaboration with Project Everyone and the Global Goals. I was tasked with creating a way for the public to interact with the Global Goals Pavillion and be part of COP26.
Working closely with Project Everyone and Es Devlin’s Studio we created the Voices for Change.
A chance for everyone to share the change they want to see in the World. Visitor's were able to scan a QR code, choose the goal most relevant to the change they wanted to see and record their voice at the 17th Pillar.
Working with Robert M Thomas we created a generative composition that evolved based on each person's voice which was then played back into the pavilion.
Once visitors had added their voice they received a portrait and a visualization of their voice wrapped around them. This was achieved using depth cameras and Unreal Real Engine.
Thousands of visitors added their voice at the pavilion and online. Working with the Google Arts and Culture team the installation was re-created digitally to be shared with the World.
Voices for Change went on to open COP26 in Glasgow alongside portraits of Global Goal ambassadors photographed by the artist JR. A way for all World leaders to hear the wants and needs of the world.
